We offer Mangosteen (Garcinia Mangostana) from Indonesia, from our plantations, which have been checked, approved, registered and monitored by the Department of Horticulture of the Ministry of Agriculture of the East Jawa Province.

 

Our fruits processing and packing facility is approved and registered by the Indonesian Agricultural Quarantine Agency and the Competent Authority for Bio-Security in the East Jawa Province.

 

Our facility has also been inspected, approved, certified and registered for export to China by the GACC (General Administration of Customs China), which is the standard certification and licensing body as well as the approving and monitoring authority for all fruits exported to China.

Mangosteen, commonly known as the “Queen of Fruit”, is considered “cooling” in the Eastern Tradition, making it a good a counter-balance to, and often paired with the “heaty” durian.

 

The fruit has an inedible, deep reddish-purple colored skin, which when ripe turns dark purple. The flesh is slightly tangy, acidic, juicy and sweet, with somewhat fibrous and fluid-filled vesicles. The seeds are almond-shaped.

 

It is rich in antioxidants, and has antitumoral, antiallergic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. It has phenolic compounds such as xanthones, anthocyanins, phenolic acids and benzophenones that has properties good for inflammatory diseases pertaining to the nervous system, arthritis, cancer, and the digestive system as well as dermal and muscular issues. It has been used in traditional medicine for the treatment of abdominal pain, diarrhea, dysentery, infected wound, suppuration, and chronic ulcer. Mangosteen pericarp may have potential use in kidney and liver treatment and obesity treatment and increase in good cholesterol LDL.

The season is from December to April and from June to August, the season being dependent on the weather.

 

Quality, Grades and Sizes

 

Quality :

The fruits shipped are are whole, fresh, firm,clean, free of cracks in skin or abnormal pronounced blemishes, free of any visible foreign matter, free of foreign smell and/or taste, possess characteristic of the variety, free of disease, rotting or deterioration, free from mechanical and/or physiological damage.

 

Quality Grading :

We have several grades Such as Super-1, Super-2 and Super-3, which grading depends on the percentage of defects such as bruising and scratches on the skin of the fruit, provided these do not affect the general appearance of the produce, the quality, the keeping quality and presentation in the package

Super-1 : Bruises and scratches of less than 15% of skin surface

Super-2 : Bruises and scratches of less than 25% of skin surface

Super-3 : Bruises and scratches of less than 50% of skin surface

Size Grading :

The standard Size grades are :

  • Size # 6 : diameter > 62 mm
  • Size # 5 : diameter 59-62 mm
  • Size # 4 : diameter 53-58 mm
  • Size # 3 : diameter 46-52 mm
  • Size # 2 : diameter 38-45 mm

 

Unless the buyer specifically requires only a specific size, a shipment will have an assortment of sizes. The percentage of the sizes may vary from area to area and is usually dependent on the weather. Each size will be packed in separate boxes and marked with the size number.

Maturity Level :

We usually ship all maturity levels if the shipment is by air, and reaches the end customers relatively fast. Sea shipments that may take 7-15 days to destinations in Asia, we ship less mature fruits, so that the fruits will reach maturity on arrival at destination.

2. Processing (Sorting, Cleaning), Packing & shipment

 

Our fruits are sorted, cleaned, and disinfected with purified water before packing. Quality control checks are performed at various stages.

 

All fruits are sorted at the orchards for quality and they are later transported to our Factory Packing

 

Once fruits arrive at factory it undergoes several quality checks at various stages of cleaning, washing, and grading, after which they are sorted for size automatically and and filled into crates or cartons. The weight is controlled automatically. The fruits pass a further weight control check before the cartons are sealed.

The packed fruits are free from E.coli bacteria and Coliform bacteria and other pathogens harmful to human health.

The fruits are packed in 8kg net plastic crates lined with paper or in Paper cartons. Packing can be done according to buyers requirements.

Shipments by 20ft or 40ft refrigerated containers that are climate controlled, or by air freight in airline containers or PMC pallets.
