Introducing our pioneer project of Agribis in fresh fruits

A novel project that benefits all farmers, we bring to the community our project of Agribis that harnesses the potential of the Small farmers, who form the backbone of agriculture output of Indonesia.

CAHAYA AGRIBIS IS A PROJECT OF MUTUAL COOPERATION BETWEEN FARMERS AND CAHAYA AGRIBIS THAT WILL HELP CONNECT THE FARMERS DIRECTLY WITH THE CONSUMER, GIVING MANY ECONOMIC BENEFITS TO FARMERS.

Cahaya Agribis will help farmers to shift from traditional agricultural practices to modern safe and sustainable farming, high value and export standard agricultural practices.

A partnership with Cahaya Agribis will offer the partners the benefit of technical advise, avenues for consultation, access to experts, fertilizer, seedlings, safe pesticides and practices, capital, land, and markets.

It is novel in many respects as we.

      1. Introduce to small farmers the systems and procedures hitherto only adopted by large multi-national and national plantation and fruit processing entities.
      2. Enable farmers to practice good agricultural practices, good handling practices and good environmental practices – healthy for the environment, healthy for the farmers, healthy for the community, healthy for you and I and everyone , all only possible where there is assured adequate compensation for their hard day’s work.
      3. Introduce and adopt all aspects of the latest available technology in handling fresh fruits.
      4. Apart from increasing the income of farmers, he can also increase the workforce, infrastructure and increase the welfare of the countryside.
      5. Our schemes will help make farming attractive, profitable and fun. It will empower and improve the livelihoods of many people and positively impact the economy of the regions.

We have several types of programs, suitable for existing farmers and those that intend to embark on farming as a vocation.

Getting a good product requires a system that takes account of all the vulnerabilities of fruits. What we know as Good Handling Practices (GHP) is found in the systems we adopt, a self regulating system that verify that fruits are produced, packed, handled, and stored as safely as possible to minimize risks of microbial food safety hazards.

Often talked but rarely seen in practice, we bring to the community this experience, its practice on a commercial scale. We bring to the community the art of practicing GHP.

We bring to our partners the Know-how of Post-harvest Handling of fruits. secret of long life of fruits…

We use a combination of methods to increase the shelf life of our fruits. Dragon fruit that usually depend on its degree ripeness for a longer life will enjoy a shelf-life of between 30 to 40 days for even fruits that are 100% ripe that usually does not last even 1 week. Salak that usually goes rotten in a few days enjoys a shelf life of over 2 weeks.

Sharing the recipe to maintain an optimum balance between a good tasty fruit with the right amount of additives

Sweeter the fruit, bigger and nicer it looks may always not be too good for our health. To do so may require the use of many toxic substances and Plant Growth Hormones. Our procedures will help train the farming community maintain the natural balance without compromising our health and can maintain the original taste or quality of the fruit

Educating and training the community on identifying and eliminating toxic substances from the farming cycle and ensuring food safety

Pesticides includes weedicides and fungicides, without which commercial farming becomes very difficult today. Our systems and procedures will ensure that none of the harmful and banned active ingredients are present in any form, in pesticides and fertilizers used, and only recommended pesticides are used and used safely.

Educating the community of the dangers of the indiscriminate use of Plant Hormones and eliminating toxic substances from the farming cycle, and ensuring food safety.

Plant Growth hormones naturally occur in plant are now commercially produced (additives) by isolating it from plant and fungi. They are used to make our plants bigger and high yielding and and our fruits bigger and more beautiful. They are widely used in Indonesia, especially Gibberellic. Gibberrelic Acid type GA4 and GA7 are banned in the EU. Indonesian Standard requires residual GA to be less than 0.05ppm (parts per million).

Some additives may contain over 40 types of toxic chemicals harmful to human health. Additives further has the downside of absorbing certain heavy metals and chemicals more than safe limits. We can also see it causing losses to farmers in Indonesia from internal fruit cracking, external peel splitting to fruits, and ear drying in Dragon Fruit and the Calyx in Mangosteen turning red, accelerating the ripening of fruits, lowering their shelf life, and also affecting the taste.

While our systems and procedures will ensure the proper use of safe Additives, our testing procedures will ensure minimal residue and none of the harmful substances find their way into the food chain.

The economies of scale of our Agribusiness model enables us to pass on all of the benefits to our partner farms.

Our in-house team will provide the services and support for :

  • Soil testing
  • Advising
  • Improving soil quality

Removing poisons from the soil making the soil good for long term sustainable cultivation

Testing and recommending Safe Water sources for Farms.

water sources and providing new water sources – the most important material for our plants and our health. Most sources deep well of water is acidic and may not be suitable some crops.

Recommending specific fertilizers that are safe for each type of plant.

Facilitating the provision of safe fertilizers at acceptable prices for sustainable long term cultivation of a healthy and safe product.

Eliminating the present widespread use of Cheap hazardous and toxic, including banned Pesticides from the farming cycle

Make available safe pesticides at acceptable prices for sustainable long term cultivation of a healthy and safe product

Crop threat assessment and recommending pre-emptive action.

Provide the know-how to react to crop threats.

Inability to react proactively in our own farms to the foreseeable threat of fungal diseases, which are prevalent and affecting neighboring farms, regions or provinces, can have a devastating effect on our farms. We have witnessed this recently.
